A hands-on printmaking class for youth ages 7–14 in the Hudson Valley.
There's a moment in printmaking that never gets old: you press the paper down, peel it back, and see your design in ink for the first time. In Printmaking, students get that moment every week. They design their own printing blocks, carve and build them, mix ink, and pull original prints onto paper and fabric.
Over six weeks, students move from simple stamps to multi-color prints and repeating patterns — learning how printmakers think about shape, reversal, color, and composition. Everyone leaves each class with finished prints to take home, and finishes the session with a small body of original work.
Printmaking is part of Art Lab, our weekday after-school art series. Each day of the week is a different class, and each runs in six-week sessions — so students can try one, or stack a few.
Art Lab runs Tuesday through Thursday afternoons, 3:30–5:00 PM. Each day is its own class, and every class runs in six-week sessions. Take one day or all three.
Curriculum guides, session plans, and program materials for Art Lab instructors and partner educators are available in the teacher portal.
