Build and fill an art journal of your own. For youth ages 7–14 in the Hudson Valley.
An art journal is a sketchbook, scrapbook, and diary all in one — a place where anything goes. In Art Journaling, students build and fill journals of their own: drawing, painting, collage, found papers, lettering, and mixed-media experiments, one spread at a time.
Week by week, students pick up composition, color, and a toolbox of techniques — layering, lettering, fold-outs, pockets, and painted spreads — along with the habit of making something every week. Students leave with a journal full of their own work and the skills to keep it going on their own.
Art Journaling is part of Art Lab, our weekday after-school art series. Each day of the week is a different class. Enroll for a six-week session, or drop in any week for $30 — try one, come back for another, or stack all three.
Art Lab runs Tuesday through Thursday afternoons, 3:30–5:00 PM. Each day is its own class. Enroll for a six-week session, or drop in any week for $30. Take one day or all three.
Curriculum guides, session plans, and program materials for Art Lab instructors and partner educators are available in the teacher portal.
