Daytime robotics, maker space projects, and art for homeschool families, in our beautiful Liberty Street studio.
Our daytime labs give homeschool students hands-on science, technology, engineering, art, and math at our Liberty Street studio, while the after-school crowd is still in class. Students build, code, and design together in small multi-age groups.
Homeschool ROBOLab and Homeschool BUILDLab are running now. Session 2 starts the week of Oct 26 with three labs: Homeschool BUILDLab and Homeschool Digital Illustration on Thursdays, and Homeschool 3D Print Lab on Fridays. We're adding more as families tell us what they want. For the full story of what we teach and where the program is headed, read Homeschooling at Newburgh Creates.
Daytime robotics for homeschool families: LEGO SPIKE Prime builds, coding, and engineering challenges with two instructors in the room, in a multi-age group capped at 10. Tuesdays 10:00 AM–12:00 PM through Oct 20. Not offered in Session 2.
Homeschool · Robotics Learn More →The daytime, homeschool edition of our flagship maker space program: sketch, prototype, wire up, and build real 3D projects, with studio art folded in and two instructors in the room. Thursdays 10:00 AM–12:00 PM. Session 2: $175 session or $40 drop-in.
Homeschool · Maker Space Projects Learn More →A weekly daytime digital illustration class for homeschool students ages 7–14 with Hanna. Thursdays 10:00 AM–12:00 PM starting Oct 29. $175 session, or $40 drop-in after the first class.
Homeschool · Digital Art Learn More →Design it, print it, improve it. A daytime 3D design and printing workshop for homeschool families with Dave Long, in a multi-age group capped at 10. Fridays 10:00 AM–12:00 PM starting Oct 30. $175 session, or $40 drop-in after the first class.
Homeschool · Making & Fabrication Learn More →Come for one lab or several. Together, they cover building, electronics, digital art, and 3D design and printing.
Groups are capped at 10, and ages mix the way they do in homeschool groups. Siblings can enroll together. Projects scale up or down, so younger and older kids can work on the same challenge.
Every lab meets each student where they are, so beginners and more advanced students are all welcome.
Dave leads the robotics and engineering, and Hanna leads the art and design. Our projects bring art and technology together.
Coding, art, music, more robotics and electronics: what comes next depends on who asks. Send us your kids' ages, what they'd love to try, and the days that work. More in our post →
Pods and co-ops are welcome in our studio on weekday mornings and afternoons. We have a wonderful space for a meetup, your own program, or a lab we teach. More in our post →
Lab hours can count toward art, technology, and science enrichment, and we'll write up each session for your quarterly reports. More in our post →
Each lab runs in sessions, or you can drop in for a visit: $30 through Oct 22, and $40 for Homeschool BUILDLab, Homeschool Digital Illustration, and Homeschool 3D Print Lab in Session 2. Register on AfterSchoolHQ from each lab's page.
Scholarships are available for every program, and the application only takes a few minutes. Apply for a scholarship →

A tour of the art, maker space projects, robotics, electronics, programming, and music we teach, and how homeschool families can help shape what comes next.
The open-source software our robotics students use to code LEGO SPIKE Prime robots, and how it takes kids from drag-and-drop blocks to real Python without changing tools.
What happens in printmaking, paper mache, art journaling, and digital art, what kids get out of it, and how to enroll, in Hanna's own words.
Register for a lab, drop in to try one, or just tell us your kids' ages and what they'd love to learn. We'll help you find the right fit.
