A hands-on program for youth ages 7–14 in the Hudson Valley.
Build and BattleBots is a hands-on class where students design and build their own robots out of LEGO. They use Technic hubs, LEGO motors, and Power Functions parts. Each week they plan a build, put it together, and test it in a friendly arena challenge. Some bots are driven with remote controls, and some run on their own. After each test, students look at what worked, what didn't, and what to change.
Students practice design thinking and basic engineering: how a robot moves, how its parts hold together, and how weight and shape change how it performs. They learn to treat every break as information for the next version. They also learn to win graciously and lose usefully. No experience needed. Our instructor meets each student where they are.
Build and BattleBots combines our BattleBots robotics class with our BUILDLab hands-on technology class. Alongside the robots, students work with circuitry and other hands-on technology, and learn how electronic parts connect and how to make a project work.
The class meets two days a week, Mondays or Saturdays, and families choose one.
Drop in for $40: Mondays · Saturdays. Families choose one day for the session.
